Looking back on our September

Hello everyone! The late evening of October 7 already! Unbelievable. September was a busy month and a month with lots of migraines and fatigue, unfortunately. But as of now, I’m getting into a good phase again, feeling well. Hope it will last a bit longer than the last.

Sweet Sonic is doing really really well! He’s not had any issues anymore with his tummy. His digestion is working like it should now with the new food. He’s happy and playful.

The weather has turned to autumn for good by now. But it started getting rather cold at the beginning of September already. Since then we had more days with rain or heavy overcast than sunny days. Though we had two wonderfully sunny and warm days the previous Thursday and Friday. So the cats were able to enjoy the sun on the balcony again. Sonic enjoyed the sun on the bed, while Murli and Samantha were on the balcony.

Recently it had been too cold to leave the balcony door open all day, even with the sun it had been too chilly. But the cats have to get used to that again for the winter…

Now I will often put a chair in front of the balcony door when it’s sunny, because the girls absolutely love to curl up on chairs in the sun. But especially Murli really isn’t too happy with the door closed most of the time now.

I recently started to give them kitty grass again and they can’t get enough of it. They just absolutely love it! I only put it down for them a couple times a day, because otherwise, they would be at it constantly.

As I mentioned, the weather turned cold right at the beginning of September. We had planned to go to a huge Airshow not too far away from Graz, which only takes place every two years. We had looked forward to this one for so long! Though, right at the weekend of the Airshow, the weather had turned from summer to autumn from one day to the next. The temperatures had plummeted, it was raining, windy and the visibility was low. That is why we decided not to go, as we would have been in the cold and rain all day. Hopefully, we can go to a different Airshow next summer!

The Birds

The Sparrows and Pigeons are all quite happy! The swarm of Sparrows is very active and lovely to watch. I feed them every day and they’re not afraid of me, coming really close sometimes.

The pigeons are coming really close to me too! Most days there will only be one or two visiting. But sometimes it seems they have a party going on and bring all their friends.

Of course, it’s great entertainment for the cats inside, when the birds sit on our bedroom window.

The Bathroom

Two weeks ago, they fixed and sealed off the area around our shower tap, so no shower water can get into the wall anymore. Also, it was found that the shower tap itself did not even have a problem… That was great, as it made the work a lot easier.

Tomorrow morning, the man from the company who measured the humidity, in the beginning, is coming again to see if the humidity is decreasing. Since the repairs dragged out for so long, it’s kind of early to measure now, since it was sealed off only two weeks ago. But we will see what comes out of that. I guess he’ll have to come again at some point when more time has gone by.

There are many more posts coming

I have lots I want to write about and share! I’ve got many ideas and hopefully my health (migraine, fatigue issues) will be holding up as well as possible, as there is so much I would love to do.

We’ve been doing great and are really happy! Though we feel the summer was too short for us. Ralph isn’t looking forward to the cold winter… But I’ll make sure it’s going to be comfy, warm and cozy at home.

All the uncertainty regarding Brexit isn’t nice and no one really knows what will happen in regards to Brexit, but hopefully things will get worked out. It will already be good to have an end to the uncertainty regarding it.

Hope you’re all well! Thank you for stopping by.

Love and Purrs!

  1. It was great to have a catch up post on all of your happenings. I’m sorry you have been feeling badly and hope that you are indeed in a better health season. I wish you could feel as good as Sonic playing with the ribbon. So much fun! You made a wise decision not to attend the air show. Not only would it have been cold and rainy, but probably most of the air displays would have been grounded. I hope the cold will hold off in October and you will have a great month.

    1. Aww thank you! I’m still feeling quite good since I posted ☺️ You calling it a season is actually a good way to describe it. My health issues are influenced by the weather quite a bit. It’s ja not really predictable mostly, especially not with my general fatigue. It just comes and goes. But I enjoy it while I feel well like I do right now.

Sonic is definitely enjoying himself all the time. He’s such a happy little boy! I am at least very happy too😊 Even if I feel unwell, I am still happy. I can have so much fun with the cats! They’re not ever getting bored with strings and ribbons lol.

Yes, you’re right! It would have been awful at the Airshow in that weather. And we would not have seen it well anyway with those low clouds. Yes, they grounded the planes for a while, when it was too bad.

For now the weather warmed up again! We’ve had some beautiful afternoons over the weekend and today. Cats were lying on the balcony, enjoying the sunshine 🌞 Just the nights and mornings are chilly.
Thanks for your sweet comment! We wish you a nice week! Big hugs!

  2. I am so glad to hear you dear Natasha, but sorry for your migraine… I hope and wish you feel better now. Your cats are amazing, and I loved their photographs. The weather changed in here too and I have to close the balcony door (even it is closed balcony I mean not open area but it’s been cold) but Δ°biş is not happy for closed door… Thank you for your nice post, Blessing and Happiness to you All, Love, nia

    1. So sorry for replying late. I’ve been feeling fine since I posted though. I’ve just been so busy. I don’t know why it always takes up so much of the day to do chores around the house, and all those other everyday things. The hours just fly by! Then after doing a bit, I need to rest because I’m tired out lol. And suddenly, another day is gone by and I didn’t get to my blog. Sigh.

Thank you so much for your wonderful comment! You’re so sweet! You are amazing yourself! Your photos and posts are great!

I understand what you mean. We’ve had to leave the balcony door closed for the most part as well. But over the weekend and today, we had some really nice afternoons! It was warm enough to leave the balcony door open and put all the stuff out for the cats and ourselves. But it gets cold again over night and in the morning.
Poor Ibis! Murli is the same. She loves to be on the balcony and to be able to go in and out as she pleases. So she’s not happy with the door closed either…

I’ll post again these days! Blessings to you also, and lots of love from me and the cats πŸ’•πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜½πŸ˜ΈπŸ˜ΊπŸ’• Have a wonderful week!

  3. I thought I might be further North than you but I looked and I am not. It is colder than normal here nevertheless. Leaving the catio window entrance open all day wastes heat, and cats are not happy, but I give them a little time out if it is sun on it. Glad to hear all is well.

    1. How interesting! I would have thought you’d be farther North too! Yeah, I can relate… Especially Murli and Samantha aren’t happy with the balcony door closed… But it’s just not warm enough anymore for the most part. Though, we had some nice warm afternoons over the weekend and today! We were actually able to leave the door open. But as soon as the sun sets it gets cold and stays cold until midday.

Once it’s too cold, they’ll have to get their sun through the door and windows.

Hope you’re all doing fine! Thank you so much for your nice comment! Stay warm and cozy! Hugs! 🐾😽🐾😸🐾😺

    1. Thank you for your lovely comment! Yes, it does feel nice to get that warm sun on you in the fall. We’ve been very lucky over the weekend and also today, with having warm and sunny afternoons. It was warm enough to leave the balcony door open all afternoon and the cats absolutely enjoyed it. Though, as soon as the sun goes down, it gets cold. But even when the door stays closed mostly in the winter, they still have lovely spots to catch the sun in the mornings and afternoons, thanks to having the windows of our apartment go out to the east and west.

Haha, cats definitely know about how to enjoy yourself and relax, and how to find the cosiest places to hang out.

Big hugs and love from us 🐾😽🐾😸🐾😺 πŸ˜‰

  4. Wishing you and Ralph good health. As we all know, that is the most important element for a happy life. One of my cats loves grass. I grow it myself and usually have several pots going. Once I didn’t have any grass growing and my poor cat ate my herbs instead! I can’t get my other cat to eat it at all. I understand about the balcony door. When I leave my house I lock the door and the cats are not happy…. even though they still have full access to the roof deck, sometimes they will sit and stare out the closed door!

    1. Thank you! What a lovely comment! I’m enjoying it so much when I feel really good for a while.

I just started to grow a more than one pot. I’ll probably add more. All 3 absolutely love it and they don’t like to be without now. So I totally see how your cats got into the herbs because the grass wasn’t there lol.

Haha, Murli is like that… She’ll just sit and stare at the closed balcony door as well… But like you, I close things down when we leave too, and of course now when it gets too cold.

Thanks for visiting! Have a great week! πŸ˜‰πŸ˜½πŸΎπŸ˜ΈπŸΎπŸ˜ΊπŸΎ

    1. πŸ₯° I will sweet Binky! I love writing & posting & sharing stuff with all of you!

Lol lol I know right? The sparrows are really happy here and they had so many babies this year! They are quite safe from Hawks & get fed by me & have no shortage of bugs & wormies. So they really increased in number over the last 2 years.

It’s wonderful kitty TV! They love it 😺😺😺 Never gets boring here.

So happy we made you and Granny smile! YayπŸ˜ŠπŸ˜½πŸ˜½πŸ˜½πŸ’–

Hope you had a pawsome week so far! Happy #whiskerswednesday πŸ˜ΊπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ
