Lots of Autumn pictures, the kitties and a cute hedgehog

By now it really looks like Autumn here. Back in the beginning of September, it was just a few leaves here and there, while everything was still green. But within the last two weeks, the leaves really started dropping fast. The temperatures we’re having are great though! Very warm in the afternoons. 20°C / 68°F to 25°C / 77°F and sunny every day. Only the mornings can be quite foggy, and the temperatures overnight and the mornings drop to around 10°C / 50°F or 7°C / 44.6F.

During the day, I don’t even put the heating on.

Foggy Fall Morning

This is one of the foggy early mornings these days. But as soon as that clears, the sun comes out and we have beautiful sunny Autumn days.

Since the afternoons have been so warm, we put everything outside for the cats and us of course, and we’re able to leave the balcony door open and the windows too.

But even if it’s too cold to be out, the cats still have sunny spots to hang out at if they want.

Samantha loves the little cat tree by the bedroom window. She’s lying on a valerian root cushions. It’s barely visible underneath her front legs.

We have a sweet little hedgehog we often see wandering around in the garden at night, so it was always too dark to get a pic or video. But I was lucky on Saturday and got a lovely video of him/her digging for worms and looking for slugs/snails. He found quite a bit and I hope this sweetie had a nice full tummy afterwards. Unfortunately, the video always loses lots of quality once it’s uploaded to YouTube, even though I record it in full HD.

I picked up the kitties meds from the Vet and I always go through this park to avoid the busy street with my bicycle. This awesome and huge tree is so lovely! It’s so big, I can’t even get it all into the frame (I also can’t go back much farther either…). This tree already looked huge like that when I was a little kid (I was born in 1980). I really wonder how old it really is. When this park was founded sometime in the late 1800s, there were only fields and farms with lots of trees already in place. So this tree could have easily been there before the park.

The sunsets we’re getting in fall are stunning as well! Here’s a little slideshow of the sunsets in the last couple of days.

March 5, 2018 Snow, Ice and once more waiting for good news

Hey lovely readers! Here’s the latest of us trying to get married in Graz:

At the moment, we’re waiting and hoping for the best again. Since the registrar requires a certified translation by a court translator for each of Ralph’s documents, and Apostilles (Legalisation) for each of the same documents, we had to try and get that sorted out.

The translations are underway now, and hopefully, we’ll get them back by the end of this week.

For the Apostilles (Legalisation), we had to send Ralph’s original documents off to the UK via courier. We had to fill out an application form online for it and pay. The next morning (Friday), I had the documents shipped to the UK by courier. Now we can only wait and hope that the documents get legalised and that there won’t be any bureaucratic hurdles. If everything goes as it should, they will send the documents with each Apostille back to us by the end of this week.

And if all of that worked out, the last thing to hope for is that the registrar won’t come up with yet another requirement for certified certificates and/or translations.

This is, or should be the last hurdle now and according to the registrar, we can get married as soon as we have the translations and Apostilles. Which would be, or could be next week even! I’m not counting on that though. Until we have everything back and the registrar accepts it all without another request for certificates, I won’t get my hopes up too much.

Ralph and I will finally be able to relax and just enjoy everything after all of that. I will have my mind in the right place again to blog normally, be more cheerful and communicate more with all of you lovely readers.

As for everything else: It’s March, and like almost everywhere in Europe it doesn’t look or feel like it at all. Here in Graz, Austria, the last couple of weeks have been bitterly cold with nights and mornings temperatures between -18°C (-0.4°F) and -15°C (5°F). During the day, the temperatures didn’t go above -5°C (23°F), often it was even colder. We had lots of snow as well.

Icicles everywhere.

More icicles!

The temperatures increased to around freezing point over the weekend, but it’s been very foggy and overcast.

This was Sunday, the view over the city from the Schlossberg webcam. Today, it looked exactly the same…

It’s mostly for Ralph and the cats that I wish for more warmth. Although it’s lovely and warm in our apartment, and the snow looks beautiful, it’s no fun going outside like that. Ralph is cold a lot more easily than I am.

But even if it’s -100° and raining icicles, Ralph and I will go out to get married if we get our appointment soon! 😂

For now, we’re staying in most of the time. We enjoy being together all the time, every second of it.

Murli is happy, and so are Sonic and Samantha. I’m really looking forward to making our balcony pretty and cat safe, and the windows too. Will be lovely, for the summer breeze to come through the open windows and the open balcony door. All of us will love it!

There will be nice walks in the nearby park, where we can see a bit of the sunset.

I will do my best to reply to all your sweet comments. Shame on me… It’s normally the first thing I do in the day as soon as I have time. Hopefully, things will get back to normal soon, once we can relax and all the worrying about bureaucrats is over.

Thank you so much, for always being so kind and leaving such wonderful comments on my blog.

The cats, Ralph and I love you all!

December 24, 2016 at 6:30am on Christmas morning

Morning of the 24th 6:46am

Woke up pretty early, at 6:30am and I just could not sleep anymore. Wanted to finish putting up the last few decorations on the tree, like my birdies and a couple more baubles. It was still completely dark outside and so I switched the Christmas tree lights on 😺 Murli was still soooo sleepy in that picture!

Morning of the 24th 6:40am
6:40am, shortly after getting up. Only the lights on the tree were on.

Morning of the 24th 7:09am

After Murli had her breakfast, she relaxed while watching me finish decorating the tree.

This whole week our city was covered in a thick fog, and it’s the same today. But at the same time it’s pretty lovely, since the Christmas lights are on everywhere, including many windows where people put lights and decorations. It’s definitely more “Christmasy” this way, than last year, where we had sunshine and 20°C outside, where it felt like we’re in the middle of spring.

Have a lovely day for now everyone!❤️

December 20, 2016 Soon it’s Christmas

SONY DSC

Only a few days, then it’s Christmas again! We are looking forward to it, as it’s our most favorite holiday. Our Christmas evenings on the 24th are always really nice, peaceful, cozy and happy. Murli gets treats and gifts and has fun with the eventual additional boxes too.

I decorated a bit, and will decorate a little bit more every day before the 24th. Papa (Dad) and I will get the tree either tomorrow or Thursday. I have seen kitty ornaments in a little lovely store downtown! They have mouses too! I needz it!!! Totally needz it. Murli says so too! I already have a couple of birds😸 (Not putting up pictures of it yet, because that way it’s more fun if you see the tree when it’s all done)

Papa has has made his delicious vanilla crescent cookies! And I made a big dent into that cookie box already lol. The recipe is just sooo good. Mama used to make them and Papa makes them perfectly. Murli always looks at me with her big eyes like “Give me! Give me sum! Wat u waitin fur?!” but I can’t give her anything, due to her allergies. She is doing so well now, I do not even dare to give her those few tiny crumbs I used to let her have before I knew that she has food allergies. I don’t want to risk it. But I might figure out how to bake treat cookies for her myself. Just need to find a recipe that would work for her.

The weather was being crazy like usual last week. One day sunny and warm, the other day dreary and cold. But it seems like it will stay dreary for a bit now, and rather cold. But at least that won’t cause me so many migraines! Hopefully…

Murli on Sunday morning (December 18)

Yesterday, on December 19, the morning was especially dark again. When we woke up, I thought it was a lot earlier than it really was lol. The photos were taken past 8am when I was running a few errands. It was also really cold, especially next to the river lol. Since Graz is pretty much in the foothills to the Alps, we are higher up at about 350m to 400m above sea-level. So we are often caught in dense fog during the winter. On days where the fog is really thick and it’s cloudy as well, it’s just dark. Today was the same, but my migraines are better when it’s cold and dark ;-)

A little later it started to snow a little. It was just tiny little bit and didn’t stay. I think it might have just been frozen fog, and if it’s like usual, we won’t be getting any more than that. But I would like it if the frozen fog could fall on the 24th and 25th 😸

Have a nice Tuesday evening furiends!
