November 29, 2016 at 8pm Sunny cold day and feeling good

Woke up today feeling just as well as these past two days; no migraine! Todays weather was sunny and we had a clear blue sky, but it was still cold with an icy cold wind blowing. For as long as it’s cold, I’ll feel fine. Murli feels good too and still does purrfect with her new food. No adverse reactions to it. So her body is apparently doing just fine with it. Otherwise she would have had issues by Sunday. I’m really happy with this!

Because I only got a few packs of catfood from the vet, since I couldn’t be sure she would like it and if her body would accept it. But because it’s all so well, I got some more from the vet today.

On my way between the tram station I had to get out and the vet office, I have to walk by the park (Volksgarten park) and saw my favorite tree again, purrfectly illuminated by the sun and still beautiful with a lot of colorful fall foliage on it.

I already played under that huge tree as a little child. Went there countless times with my Mama as a child. This park is full of beautiful memories for me. Too bad it’s not safe anymore to go through. Sigh…Such a wonderful old tree, that already stood there for who knows how many decades before I was even born. Hopefully this tree will see a better time again for this lovely park.

November 10, 2016 at 5:30pm – Migraine Day

Today I woke up with a MASSIVE migraine… It was terrible. It’s been a while since I last had one this horrible. I took my migraine meds instantly, as I always have them beside my bed for exactly that reason. Then I put on my sleeping mask to block out the light. As even the bit of dim light was still too irritating through my closed eyes. Then I just laid there, trying not to throw up and trying to remain calm and lay still, despite the intense pain hammering in my brain and behind my left eye. Poor Murli just remained still herself and didn’t get up to meow for breakfast. It’s amazing, because if I feel really really bad, she notices, and just looks at me with her big eyes and might just make her cute little “purr-meew”. She’ll just wait calmly and patiently near me until I get up.

I fell asleep thankfully, so when I woke up agin an hour later, the medicine had already done it’s job. Those triptans are just really a blessing! Instead of running around with a bad migraine for 3 days, it’s over after an hour. But a migraine that bad will still have an impact on me for the rest of the day. My senses remained sensitive to noise, light and smells all day and they still are. Also tired… I already took a nap in the early afternoon, but I’m already sleepy again.

On to other things… Murli is doing well and isn’t scratching. The redness is gone from her skin now. And I’m going to put some medicine on later when she wakes up from her little nap.

Murli and her fav dish: chicken breast (from yesterday night). But she’s getting the rest of it later 😉

Yesterday, after the fog cleared, we got sunny weather again, and today as well. But it remained relatively cold. The view was amazing again from the webcam, yesterday and today as well.

From yesterday morning:

From this morning:

Going to put on Murlis medicine. I’ll likely go to sleep early tonight. Can’t believe tomorrow is Friday again already 💝😸 Have a nice day everypawdy🐾

November 5, 2016 at 8:30pm – A comfy but tired day

Tired little kittyloaf below the heater😺💗 “Me iz too sleepy for da proper loaf🐱💤” via Instagram http://ift.tt/2f4uRL9

Yesterday, as we were about to go to sleep at about 11pm, that stupid idiot neighbour from the apartment building across the street, started blasting his extreme and crazy techno at full volume again. There is no way to accurately describe just how annoying that kind of music can be. It’s just a really extrem and strange kind of techno. It sometimes reminds me of a washing machine that’s malfunctioning. The volume and quality of the music is that of a club. Those people must have quite the equipment. You can hear it for quite the distance up and down the street too.
I think what makes it so bad for us, is that we are probably at about the same height as those people. I’m not sure from which apartment it comes exactly, but I think it’s on the top floor, where the attic aparmtents are. The windows there open from the roof and can’t be seen from where I am.

I just do not understand how the other tenants aren’t going completely crazy over there. Considering just how often this happens, I just dont get how the people never ever call the cops or put a stop to the noise by at least complaining. That person is able to keep going the whole night at full blast every time.
Sometimes it goes for the whole weekend, without a break. It will start on Friday at about 11pm and from there go in one go until Monday at 7 or 8am. They will turn down the volume during the day a bit, but turn it up again during the night. It will drive you mad to hear that constant monotone sound without a break for the whole weekend.

I just have had it now with those people. I’ll do something about it. First, I’ll go over to the building and see if I can talk to some residents. Maybe I can figure out which apartment it is. But anyway, the noise kept going the whole night until 8am in the morning. Between 3am and 6am they turned up the volume even more.

Despite the noise, Murli remained cuddled up next to me, sleeping peacefully and I’m glad she got her sleep. It’s more important to me than me getting my sleep, because I really wanted her to be able to rest after the stress of the vet appointment and the vaccination shots.

Of course I felt tired and exhausted today… But I still had a nice day. Went to take a nap in the afternoon with Murli, which was wonderful and much needed.
The day is now almost over.

I hope you all had a nice Caturday! And hopefully you had a good nights sleep I look forward to tomorrow, Sunday. I just love Sundays and Caturdays (if I slept the night before ). I’ll go and play with Murli and get her skin taken care of. The itchiness is gone ever since we started using the medicine from the vet and the coconut oil.

Have a lovely remaining Caturday everypawdy!

November 3, 2016 at 8:45pm – Our Vet appointment day

Hello everyone! I planned on updating sooner today, but I was soooo tired… Because I did not sleep much at all last night. Maybe two hours and those not in one go either. I got up this morning with dark circles and red eyes 😅

Our appointment was sheduled for 11am, but an emergency came in before us, so we had to wait a bit longer. I took a short walk with Murli, because she doesn’t like when she has to wait somewhere, without anything happening. She is much happier when I walk around with her. Thankfully it did not rain today! Instead it was sunny, even though a cold wind was blowing.

When we went back into the Vet office, we didn’t have to wait long anymore. All in all, it wasn’t even 30 minutes that we had to wait.

After we got called in, the Vet (a very kind female Vet) looked at Murlis skin problem, which is right before the ears and on the outside of the ears. Typical parasites have been ruled out, and it doesn’t look anything like it either. Her ears on the inside are wonderfully healthy and astonishingly clean. The rest of her skin is fine. No itchiness or anywhere else.

It’s atopic dermatitis, caused by something her body is reacting too. Food is often the cause of it, but in our case it’s not very likely, as the dermatitis doesn’t seem to react to any change. The answer must lie somewhere in the fact that it doesn’t appear very often. The first time was in 2014, in April. The second time, is now. It appears quite suddenly and I will instantly notice, because Murli starts scratching heavily the area before her ears. Also, Murlis case is very mild. The treatment with the medicine, the coconut oil and the “Käsepappel Tee” (=Malvae folium) things are going to be fine. Both, the coconut oil (totally organic and edible) and the Malvae folium tea, I already have at home, because I use it for myself too. But I have to try and figure out what could possibly cause the allergic reaction.

Murli also got the usual check up and her vaccination shots.

I’m so glad we have this Vet, it’s truly the kindest Vet I have been to, like ever. But, we were both happy to be on our way home again. Murli because she was done, and I because she is fine.

The first thing I did after getting home, after letting Murli jump out of her buggy of course, was to get on with cooking her most favorite food in the world: Cooked chicken breast. And while that was cooking slowly, there were cuddles and comforting and treats for Murli.

Fank u Mom for making ma fav foodz. I forgive u for vet tiz time. Iz foodz done yet?
Murli looking at me, while I prepared the chicken breast “Fank u Mom for making ma fav foodz. I forgive u for vet tiz time. Iz foodz done yet?”

After she ate, she went right to sleep. Murli is tired of course. She always is after the vaccination shots.

Murli fast asleep
There she is… at 5pm. Peacefully sleeping

I’m very very tired myself and despite all the stuff I’d like to do, like talking with all our dear furpals and humanpals on twitter and here, I have to go lay down. But here are a couple more photos from today:

Murli looking at a couple pigeons on the sidewalk near a park, while we went for a little walk, because we had to wait a bit longer until we could be taken in.
Love her big eyes 💖 So glad it didn’t rain and Murli could enjoy some sun!
From our little walk. Here is the kitty chariot in full view 💝
And finally on our way home at 12:26pm, Murli looking out curiously. Probably at all those buildings we were walking by.
And from when we arrived at our home at 12:34pm and I was getting out the keys and of course my phone to take one more pic 😆

Thank you all for reading! Sorry for the late update. Hope you all have a wonderful day and a comfy warm night 💕

October 31, 2016 at 8:30pm

We had a good night and slept so well, and of course we woke up an hour early, but got up anyway. Unfortunately, I woke up with a migraine though, but after I took my triptan, it was gone again.

When I looked outside this morning, I saw them putting up the christmas lights in the street! Every year at the same time, they put up the lights. Another year has gone buy since I last stood at my window, taking pictures of them putting up the christmas lights… It doesn’t feel like it’s been a year. But the years haven’t been feeling like full years for some time now. Somehow, it feels like the time has sped up compared to my childhood and early 20s. Especially as a child, a year felt like an eternity.

This year, I saw the first christmas sweets and even decoration, by the end of August… Can you believe that? I don’t really know why that would be a good idea from the stores perspective. Does anyone even buy them that early? Are people supposed to eat christmas sweets for all those months until the christmas holidays? But they would be sick of it by the end of October, of not earlier… Or are people supposed to buy them at that time and then keep them until the holidays? But who wants old sweets? Neither makes sense 😂 😹 We love sweet things, a lot, but my dad and I will start with cookies and the like about two weeks before christmas. I look already forward to it. Murli would love them too! There are some cookies, that Murli goes all excited about when she smells them… I have to be careful not to have them accessible, otherwise Murli would get right into the cookie tin…

Later today, I went to grab a few things before the holiday tomorrow. I also got a couple new crotchet hooks from a sale, because I want to learn how to crotchet. I can do the basics, but I want to learn how to make awesome things to wear and other useful stuff.

On my way home, I took a shortcut through a church parking lot, which has a garden and trees that belong to the monastery there. The sun being so low, causes the light to be much warmer and more in the red of the colorspectrum, which looked beautiful on the yellow, red and brownish foliage on trees and bushes.

All of this is is near the city center.

Back home Murli was happy to see me back. She was hungry too and looking forward to the cooked chicken brest I made her before.

Now she sleeps behind me on the floor, on her favorite rug, while I sit at the computer. This Thrusday, on the 3rd of November, we have to go to the vet. It’s time for her vaccination shots and check up. Muri also has her skin problem again, where she gets itchy at the area before her ears, and some other small spots on her chin. It started just before the weekend. She had that problem in 2014 too. It goes away again after the medicine I have to put on those areas, which stops the itching, gets rid of any inflammation and desinfects the area. As soon as the medicine is on, the itching stops.

But no idea what it really is or what causes it. It doesn’t seem to be influenced by her food, or by anything else she has contact with. I have to use very mild and totally non irritating stuff myself, because of my rosacea and my overly sensitive skin, that reacts with inflammation to any chemical preservatives, BHA and BHT, Parabens, Phthalates, anything with Aluminum in it, many parfums and pretty much every chemical in mainstream cosmetics. So I just avoid them alltogether. Thankfully there are nowadays lots of alternatives, that are vegan and cruelty free and because of that usually harmless enough of my skin. I can’t even use sunscreen lol. Because my skin can’t tolerate the chemical UV filters in them. And because of my rosacea, I have to avoid the too much direct sun. Which is why I usually go with umbrellas in summer 😂

Anways, the point of that long explanation is, that there isn’t much in the home that could be harmful. Pretty much any and everything we use is organic, most food is usually bought from the farmers market and cleaners are environment friendly and as harmless as possible.

Murlis food is also without any bad chemicals, grain, or stuff that doesn’t belong. When Murli was still a kitten, she was often sick and had diarrhea and would throw up soon after she ate. I realized back then, that she simply can’t tolerate many of the ingredients in normal cat food. As soon as it’s just meat and the food is free of grain, artificial aromas, preservatives, food coloring and other additives, all is well. That’s how I noticed pretty quickly that it was the food, because as soon as I gave her cooked chicken breast, she was fine. Every meal would cause a reaction of her body very soon. If there is anything in the food she can’t tolerate, she’ll throw up and have diarrhea soon after. Poor baby! But ever since then, we have figured out what works and what must be avoided and we have enough food brands to choose from nowadays. Never again did we have those problems and Murli has been in purrfect health all those years.

Except for the few small spots of itchy skin, all is well. I’m sure there are some more things we can do to help with that. We will see what our Vet says on Thursday.

Now I’ll go and make some tea and have a comfy evening with Murli. Hope all of you are fine and you have a happy Halloween 🎃
