Can you believe it? Time goes by so fast! Hero and Lisa were over 5 months old when we adopted them on November 5, 2019 😸😸💗 Their age was estimated by the Vet. But I chose the 15th of May because it was the earliest point on which they were probably born. And it’s a nice date!
Hero and Lisa are so thoroughly part of our little family, as if they have always been part of us. All the kitties love each other, even Murli loved the 2, in the short time they had together.
At the moment Hero and Lisa are partying like mad. Running around the home as fast as possible. And Hero is just as fast as Lisa! He just can’t turn corners as tightly as she can, and he can’t jump higher than onto a chair, but he makes up for that in strength and sheer will to get where he wants. He’ll climb everything! He’s so strong, he can pull himself up onto things with only his front legs.
They are both incredibly intelligent and learn things so quickly. Of course that involves figuring out all sorts of shenanigans! Always fun! Seriously, it really is. It’s pretty funny if you enter the bedroom and find all the drawers are opened with all the underwear and socks all strewn about.
Of course nobody was anywhere near it… Even if one of them (or both) are sitting in said drawers, then that’s only because they were investigating what’s going on and trying to fix it.
We love you sweet Hero and Lisa 😺 😸 I’ll always do everything to make your lives as happy and full of love and fun (and food & treats) as possible!
Every spring, a tiny group of pigeons comes back to hang around the bird feeders I hang onto the small tree near our balcony. The pigeons are too big to get to the feeders themselves, but they wait around for the food the small birds drop on the ground. They especially enjoy perching on our bedroom window shutters.
Yesterday, I opened the balcony door for the kitties when the sun came through the clouds for a little bit. Glad I did it at the right time! Because Hero and Lisa were excited to see a pigeon again! The small birds were chattering away really loud, probably because they were happy about some warmth from the sun as well.
Happy new year my lovely friends! Ralph, the kitties and I wish you all a much much much better year than it has been in 2020! Stay happy, enjoy what’s still good and beautiful in life, even if it’s hard.
I hope the sun will shine on our mask free faces this summer!
Here, I was trying all day to write a lovely post for you all. As well as another long post about what’s been going on here in Austria and more. But the 4 little rascals just didn’t leave me enough time in one sitting. Oh well. That’s how it always goes here. I have to stop and get up lots of times and my concentration goes out the window that way too. At some point I end up to tired to try and continue, that’s how another day has gone without a post lol. But I love my little rascals, I can’t say no to anything with them.
Sonic was watching the fireworks through the bedroom window just now. As you know, he can’t hear anything, but he always loved bright lights, blinking lights, colourful lights. He really enjoyed it! Samantha isn’t worried and rather continued with her nap next to the radiator on the rocking chair.
Lisa and Hero were a bit panicked. Hero especially started running off in a panic as the banging from fireworks and firecrackers intensified and he could not make the curve tight enough into the kitchen, and bonked his little head into the door frame. He is just as fast as his sister, but he can’t get take the corners as accurately and as tightly when he runs off full speed due to his missing back leg. I cuddled him and calmed him down, he’s fine thankfully and his head doesn’t seem to hurt. It wasn’t that hard of a bonk.
Lisa was running in a panic with all of her tail on the floor for a bit as well, but she actually started watching the fireworks from the bedroom window. I have a little video of it all, which I’ll upload soon to share it here.
There is so much I want to write, it’s been accumulating and there’s a lot that I want to share. So on to the next year, where I will hopefully get the things done that I plan. On that note, I am getting a proper planner in the mail next week, so I can plan what I need to do and what to do a lot better. Found that writing it onto actual paper works better for me than having it in a calendar on my phone or laptop.
This pic is from today, as Samantha and Sonic had their chicken. Hero and Lisa in the background had already eaten and were watching. I love my little band of rascals! Excuse the brush and dustpan in the picture but there is a never ending beach of kitty litter to clean up in that area.
Love to you all! We all hope you have a lovely New Years Eve, despite the hardship of the current circumstances.
Can you believe it? These two sweeties are now a whole year young! They were probably born between early or late June 2019, so June 15 sounds purrfect as their official birthday 🎁
Happy birthday sweet Hero and Lisa!!
Your lifes started out tragic, awful and scary. You had to endure so much, and were so close to death when you were found and rescued by the cat rescue.
Especially Hero was almost put down right away as he was in such bad shape with his injured back leg, that had been like that for days. In addition, you both were starving and dehydrated. You babies had been abandoned on the street when you were far too young to know anything about hunting for food.
But the kind and courageous Helga from the cat rescue wouldn’t give up on you and told the Vet she wanted you saved no matter what.
After emergency medical care and amputation surgery for Hero’s right back leg, you were nursed back to health at a lovely foster home.
Your ad for adoption was out for 2 months, in which nobody wanted to adopt you both together, as everyone took issue with your missing leg sweet boy. 💔 But people like that miss something that is very important, a kind and loving heart. People like that aren’t complete, they truly have something important missing.
You on the other paw Hero, you are complete and purrfect. You can do everything and are a sweet and cheerful kitty boy, who is unbelievably strong.
Lisa, you are full of life as well and your little heart is full of love too. Hero and you are siblings and best friends. I’m so lucky and thankful I came across your ad before you could be separated at some point.
I couldn’t imagine life without you both. You were and are a blessing that came when it was most needed for me and for you both. It was meant to be.
This is just the first of many more birthdays. For the rest of your life’s, no one will ever hurt you again and I will do anything that every moment of your precious life’s are happy, fulfilled and safe. Love you forever sweeties!
